Interest Groups

We have a wide range of interest groups. Please check the Calendar for details of meetings. Most groups welcome new members, but always check first with the contact person listed below or with the hostess listed in the Calendar.

Tech Trek for Girls

Tech Trek is a project for seventh grade girls to foster an interest in science and math professions and expose girls to college.  Our branch Teach Trek Committee solicits applicants from the local middle schools.  Students with aptitude and interest in science and mathematics are interviewed and selected to attend the AAUW-CA Tech Trek camp at Stanford University for a week in July. Girls from many schools in the area, divided into teams, participate in science and math core classes and projects taught by women with careers or backgrounds in math and science. To join the committee, call Vicki Reeder 941-8135.
